NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS (2-1) vs SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS (2-2)
This Patriots rebounded from an ugly loss to the Dolphins with a 37-21 win over the 49ers. New England’s defense struggled early giving up 14 points in the first quarter. However, by the end of the first half the Patriots were comfortably ahead 24-14, keyed by two Brady to Moss touchdown connections (one for 66 yards). The Patriots extended their lead to 34-14 early in the 4th quarter, before JT O’Sullivan found Isaac Bruce for a 5 yard touchdown to narrow the lead to 34-21. Gostowski added a late field goal to account for the final 37-21 score. Tom Brady completed 26 of 44 passes for 359 yards and 3 TDs, while Randy Moss caught 9 passes for 198 yards and 2 TDs. The seemed to return 2007 form, producing season highs in total offense (487 yards) and points (37).

NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS (3-1) vs SAN DIEGO CHARGERS (2-3)
In a rematch of last year’s AFC championship game, the Patriots were thoroughly spanked by the Chargers, losing 30-20. Again, the Patriots were torched defensively, this time by the deep passing game of the Chargers led by Philip Rivers (306 yards passing) and Vincent Jackson (134 receiving yards). The Chargers held a commanding 30-13 lead late in the 4th quarter. Brady found Sammy Morris for a late 5 yard touchdown to make the final score closer than it was on the field. Brady was a pedestrian 26-48 for 251 yards with a touchdown and an interception. Welker led the Pats pass in receiving 9 rec, 85 yards. The have now given up 92 points in their last 3 games.

NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS (3-2) vs DENVER BRONCOS (4-2)
The Patriots rebounded from last week’s loss with a 51-7 thrashing of the Broncos. New England capitalized on 4 Denver turnovers to build a commanding 30-0 halftime lead. Things got downright ugly for the Broncos in the 3rd quarter as Brady found Moss and Welker for touchdowns to extend the Patriots lead to 44-0. Denver scored for the first time in the game when Jay Cutler found Daniel Graham for a 10 yard touchdown pass. The Patriots answered a few minutes later with a Ben-Jarvus Green-Ellis touchdown rush accounting for the 51-7 final score. Brady completed 23-32 for 267 yards and 4 touchdowns. As a team, the Patriots rushed for 268 yards (141 by Sammy Morris).

NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS (4-2) vs ST. LOUIS RAMS (2-4)
The Patriots defeated the Rams this afternoon 37-20. St. Louis actually took an early 10-7 lead when Marc Bulger found Donnie Avery for a 69 yard touchdown pass. The Patriots scored twice in the final 10 minutes of the 2nd quarter to take a 17-10 lead at the end of the first half. New England was still holding on to a slim 27-20 lead with 10:40 remaining in the game. The Patriots pulled away late scoring 10 unanswered points to seal the 37-20 win. For the game, Brady completed 26 of 39 for 332 yards, 3 TDs and 1 INT. Welker led the Pats in receiving (7 rec, 100 yds.)
