MICKEY WALKER VS HENRY ARMSTRONG
The action starts from the opening bell. Walker strikes first landing a beautiful right uppercut staggering Armstrong in the first round. In the 3rd, Armstrong lands a three punch combination that rocks Walker. This is a toe to toe war with neither man taking a backward step. The fighters trade at a frenetic pace in rounds 4 and 5. In the 6th, both are penalized for low blows with the referee struggling to maintain order.
Walker landed a sneaky left hook in round 7 that sent Armstrong to the canvas. Armstrong rose at the count of 6. Armstrong was suffering from a nasty cut over his left eye by the end of the round. Walker presses over the next two rounds, staggering Armstrong again in the 9th. Armstrong turns the tide with a big right hand in the 10th that hurt Walker. He batters Walker along the ropes. By the end of the round, Walker is badly swollen under his right eye. Armstrong dominates the next two rounds as Walker’s vision becomes increasing compromised.
The pace remains torrid in the 13th round and both wail away with impunity. Walker is now badly swollen under the left eye as well. The Toy Bulldog fights back with great courage. However, it is now target practice for Armstrong. The fight is stopped in the corner at the end of the 14 with Armstrong winning by TKO. Armstrong and Walker are both sent to the hospital after the fight.

JOSE NAPOLES VS ROBERTO DURAN
Two of the top fighters of the 70’s compete for the right to advance to the final four. Duran captures the early momentum working effectively on the inside over the first couple of rounds. Napoles found the range in rounds 3 and 4, backing Duran off with crisp counterpunching. Napoles rocks Roberto in the 5th with a left hook and controls the 6th and 7th as Duran was forced to respect his punching power.
Duran turns the tide in the 8th with a wicked right in the 8th that stuns Napoles. He dominates the 9th with hard body punching. Duran controlled the first two minutes of the 10th. However, Napoles lands a good left hook and rallies late to steal the round. Napoles keeps Duran at bay in rounds 11 and 12 with hard, accurate punching. Duran lands a hard right late in the 13th opening a gash over Napoles’ left eye. Napoles is bleeding profusely and the referee halts the action to consult the ring doctor, who allows the fight to continue.

Duran pounds on a blinded Napoles. The referee halts the action again. Persuaded by vehement pleas from Napoles and his corner, the referee allows the fight to continue. Napoles mounts a desperate rally at the end of the round.
