Mickey Walker vs. Charley Burley
Burley outboxes Walker early building a lead over the first eight rounds. By the 9th, Walker was cut over the right eye. Walker rallied over the next several rounds, rocking Burley with a right in round 12. Burley turned the tide in the 14th with a sneaky left hook that hurt Walker. The 15th round was close and action packed with both fighters engaging at a torrid pace. The fight went to the scorecards. Walker wins by a close majority decision (144-141), (144-142), (143-143).

Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Thomas Hearns
Hearns controlled the first two rounds working his jab while Mayweather boxed cautiously. Mayweather tried to step up the pace in the third but was caught with a tremendous right from Hearns which sent him reeling. Mayweather remained on the defensive for the next five rounds while Hearns continued to control the action at long range with his jab. Hearns seemed to tire a bit in rounds 9 and 10 as Mayweather controlled the action. A big right by Hearns in the 11th again put Floyd on the defensive. Hearns controlled rounds 12-14 but, again, Mayweather successfully eluded his power shots. Floyd tried to step up the pace in the 15th but it was too little, too late. Hearns wins by a convincing unanimous decision (147-139), (147-138), (146-139).

Tommy Ryan vs Jose Napoles
Napoles had a slight edge over Ryan over the first five rounds with effective defense and crisp counterpunching. A sharp Ryan right opened a nasty cut over Napoles’ right eye in the 6th round. Ryan pressed the attack in rounds 7-9 trying to finish a bloodied Mantequilla. Napoles landed a desperation left hook in the 10th that rocked Ryan. He battered Ryan along the ropes for the remainder of the round. Napoles finished matters in the 11th with a wicked left hook that sent Ryan down for the count. Napoles wins by KO.

Luis Rodriguez vs Cocoa Kid
This was a battle of counterpunchers. Rodriguez had a slight edge over the first 8 rounds. Kid rallied in rounds 9-11 and had a slight lead on points. In the 12th Rodriguez rocked Kid with a left hook. He pressed the advantage in the 13th, battering Kid along the ropes. By the 14th, Kid was badly bloodied over the right eye. Rodriguez moved in for the kill. He landed 12 unanswered punches, prompting Richard Steele to step in and stop the fight. Rodriguez wins by TKO.
