BOB FITZSIMMONS VS GEORGES CARPENTIER... Carpentier started fast in round one, rocking Fitzsimmons with a hard left hook. Georges continued to have the better of it in round two. Fitzsimmons took command in round 3 with brutal body punching. Fitzsimmons rocked Carpentier with a tremendous right in the 4th and battered him over the next two rounds.
Carpentier dropped Fitzsimmons in the 7th with a clubbing overhand right. Fitzsimmons rose at the count of 7 and managed to survive the round. The fighters went toe to toe in a spectacular 8th round. Carpentier appeared to have Fitzsimmons out on his feet. However, Fitzsimmons turned the tide with a vicious right to the solar plexus. He followed up with a right uppercut with staggered Carpentier towards the end of the round.
In the 9th, Fitzsimmons dropped Carpentier with a wicked right. Georges was up at the count of 6 but in deep trouble. Fitzsimmons trapped Carpentier in the neutral corner and pounded him relentlessly. One final right uppercut sent The Orchid Man down for the count.

EVANDER HOLYFIELD VS ORLIN NORRIS
Norris fared well over the first two rounds, countering Holyfield effectively. Holyfield found Norris with a nice right hand in the 3rd, stunning him. However, Norris regained control and out boxed Evander in the 4th. Holyfield worked his way inside in the 5th and landed effectively to the body and head. Holyfield dominated Norris on the inside over the next three rounds, imposing his strength and power and doing outstanding work to the body.
Holyfield landed a wicked left hook to the ribs in the 10th which caused Norris to double over. He followed up with an overhand right which sent Norris crashing to the canvas. Norris remained on the defensive in the 11th while Holyfield stalked looking for an opportunity to close the show. Holyfield landed a right in the 12th which staggered Norris.
