BOB FITZSIMMONS VS MICKEY WALKER... This was a war from the outset as both men tore into each other with reckless abandon in round one. Walker landed a vicious left below the belt in round 2 and was penalized a point on the scorecards. Fitzsimmons staggered Walker with vicious right uppercut in the third and continued his advantage into the 4th and 5th against the smaller “Toy Bulldog”. Walker rallied in the 6th landing a tremendous right that rocked Fitzsimmons. The pace remained fast and furious in the 7th with both fighters winging away with powerful shots. Fitzsimmons landed a wicked right which opened a nasty cut over Walker’s left eye in the 8th.
Fitzsimmons took advantage and battered Walker along the ropes in the 9th. By the 10th, Walker was blinded and defenseless. Fitzsimmons landed a right uppercut that sent Walker crashing to the canvas. He battered Mickey against the ropes. Walker tried to fight back but was outgunned. The referee stepped in and stopped the fight.

FLOYD PATTERSON VS GEORGES CARPENTIER
Patterson carried the first three rounds with quickness and movement. He rocked Carpentier with a left hook in round 4 and continued to have the edge in rounds 5 and 6. The Orchid Man seemed to have no answers for his excellent hand speed.
Carpentier turned the tide in the 7th with a tremendous right that sent Patterson crashing to the canvas. He dropped Patterson twice in the 8th and nearly had him out on his feet by the end of the round. Patterson rallied in the 9th, hurting Carpentier with a sizzling left hook, right cross combination. However, Georges responded with a vicious left hook in the 10th. Patterson went down for the 4th time in the fight. He managed to beat the count but didn’t have a leg under him. One final right from Carpentier sent Patterson crashing to the canvas again. This time he wouldn’t get up.
