Wamba controlled the first three rounds with his height and reach advantage. Norris turned the tide over the next three rounds with crisp counterpunching. The next three rounds were a chess match with neither man having a decided advantage. JAMES TONEY VS EVANDER HOLYFIELD
Toney controlled the first three rounds confusing Holyfield with his defensive skills and counterpunching. Holyfield carried the 4th and 5th rounds working his way inside and banging the body. The pace slowed in the 6th as both men seemed to take a breather. Holyfield stunned Toney with a hard right in the 7th and pounded him on the inside over the next two rounds. Toney turned the momentum in the 10th landing a solid right that stopped Evander in his tracks.
Holyfield responded with a hard left hook in the 11th which staggered Toney. He dropped Toney with a left hook in the 12th. Toney rose at the count of 6 and managed to survive the rest of the round. Toney went into survival mode over the next two rounds while Evander patiently piled up points. Holyfield rocked Toney with a hard right late in the 15th but was unable to finish him. The fight would go to the scorecards. Holyfield wins by unanimous decision on the scorecards: 146-139, 145-139, 145-139.
