#1) Jack Johnson vs #8) Harry Wills: Johnson out-jabbed Wills by a 3-1 ratio and dominated the fight on the outside. He landed more punches (333-201) at a higher connect percentage (45% to 32%) and won a comfortable decision victory (146-139, 146-140, 145-140).
#4) James J. Jeffries vs #5) Peter Jackson: This was a matchup between Jeffries power and Jackson’s accurate punching. Jeffries floored Jackson twice in the fight, in the 5th and 12th. Jackson landed an amazing 56% of his punches compared to 36% for Jeffries. In the end, Jackson won by a close, split decision: 143-142, 143-142 (Jeffries 143-142).
#2) Jack Dempsey vs #7) Bob Fitzsimmons: Dempsey KO 7: Dempsey jumped all over Fitzsimmons early, dropping him 3 times during the first two rounds. Fitzsimmons dropped a charging Dempsey with a right hand in the 3rd. After stalking patiently in rounds 4 and 5, Dempsey moved in for the kill in round 6, battering Fitzsimmons along the ropes. One final left hook from Dempsey ended matters, knocking Fitzsimmons unconscious. Dempsey KO 6.

Corbett: Corbett had a solid lead after 12 rounds based on his boxing skills and punching accuracy; For the fight he landed 45.7% of his punches compared with only 33% for Langford. However, Langford took over with his superior punching power, dropping Corbett in the 13th and 14th. He finished Corbett in the 15th with a vicious right which stretched him out for a 10 count.
