CONTEMPORARY BRACKET- 2ND ROUND
#1) Wladimir Klitschko vs #5) Vitali Klitschko: This was a dull fight through six with both brothers wary of the each other’s punching power. The action heated up in rounds 7 and 8 as the Klitschko’s began to exchange hard punches. In the 9th round, Vitali landed an overhand right which sent Wladimir crumbling to the canvas. Wladimir rose at the count of 9 but he was out on his feet. The referee stopped the fight 15 seconds later. Vitali Klitschko TKO 9.
#2) Mike Tyson vs #3) Lennox Lewis: Tyson caught Lewis cold with an overhand right, sending Lewis reeling in the 1st round. Lewis managed to hold on and survive the round. In the 2nd, Lewis caught a charging Tyson with a right uppercut. Tyson went down for a 6 count. Lewis dominated the next five rounds with his jab and hard right hand. By the end of the 7th, Tyson was badly swollen under the left eye. Tyson rallied in the 8th and had Lewis in serious trouble in the 9th, rocking him with a wicked left hook. Lewis reassumed command in the 10th and battered a tiring Tyson in the 11th. One final right from Lewis in the 12th finished the fight, sending Tyson down for a 10 count. Lewis KO 12.
