The first half ended in a 6-6 tie with all points set up by defensive turnovers. The game was still tied 6-6 after 3 quarters. Jermaine Lewis returned a punt 76 yards for a touchdown as the Ravens took a 13-6 lead with 8:54 remaining in the game. Tom Brady led the Patriots on a 12 play, 80 yard drive through the teeth of the Ravens defense, finding Deion Branch in the end zone for a 9 yard game tying touchdown. Ty Law intercepted a Trent Dilfer pass and returned to the Ravens 31, setting the Patriots up first and 10 with just over a minute remaining in the game. The Rams took a 14-3 lead after one quarter. Terrell Davis rushed for two second quarter touchdowns to give the Broncos a 17-14 halftime lead.
